Rosedale Transport, Mississauga Terminal is looking to hire a qualified Linehaul dispatcher to join their team as a Midnight Dispatcher.

Work Week: Monday to Friday, 10pm till 7am

Salary: To be discussed

Dispatchers are communications personnel responsible for receiving and transmitting pure and reliable messages, tracking vehicles and equipment, and recording other important information. Wikipedia

 

Requirements:

-Dispatch experience preferred

-Minimum of 2 years transportation experience

-Ability to assist with drivers and/or Owner Operators discipline/ contractual guidelines.

-Knowledge of U.S and Canadian geography

-Ability to effectively manage up to 40 drivers

-Flexible with shift work to assist with coverage within the department when staff on holidays, sickness, etc.

-Able to work in a fast paced environment, organized

-Proficient computer skills

 

Essential Skills:

Reading text, document use, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Significant use of memory, Finding information, Computer use, Continuous learning.

 

Business Equipment and Computer applications:

– Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), Truckmate TMW systems, Cross Boarder Applications, P.I.P., Ace, C-TPAT Protocol, E-hours of service.

Dispatcher Specific skills:

Operate computer-aided communications and dispatching equipment, Process and transmit information and instructions, Schedule assignments and co-ordinate activities of vehicle operators, crews and equipment, Act as liaison between customers and drivers, handle wake-up calls, Dispatch personnel according to schedules and work orders, Advise vehicle operators of traffic and other problems, Maintain operator work records, keep track of shipments, Follow-up on issues with work orders, knowledge of cross border dispatching regulations and practices, Knowledge of highway trucking and associated rules and regulations.
