We are currently seeking a Linux Systems Analyst/Administrator (Middle-Tier) , for afull-timeopportunity. The Linux Systems Analyst/Administrator (Middle-Tier), under the supervision of the Operations Team Lead is responsible for application production support and problem determination. TheAdministrator will provide incident support, escalation and drive problem resolution. They will provide input to Service Strategy and Continual Service Improvement across the supported environments. They will also support root cause analysis and provide tactical and strategic solutions. As part of a team of application support personnel, this person requires operational expertise with Linux Middle Tier, OS (Linux, UNIX, Windows), and DB (MS SQL). Responsibilities include, but notlimited to: Administering Application Tier, Middle Tier and web- based applications, within Jboss (Wildfly) and Java environments, to achieve availability defined in the SLA, escalating incidents when appropriate Working with Application teams for supporting the business events. Working with Vendors for resolving incidents. Providing 24×7 on call escalationas requied, as well as being included in a rotational schedule for 24×7 on call shifts Maintenance of Proactive and Reactive initiatives to ensure operational stability and availability of Project Environments Engaging with application teams on application development and implementation Engaging with various infrastructure and Application teams for capacity planning, trend analysis, longitudinal data analysis Contributing to continuous improvement and innovative ideas for reducing the manual work on repetitive tasks MUST-HAVES: 5+ years experience in Linux application tier support and development, supporting physical and logical Linux and Microsoft environments, analyzing functional specifications, designing, documenting and developing technical specifications 2+ years experience on Windows Operating systems Strong proven experience in formal incident and problem management Ability to work occasional weekend and on call rotations as required. Business Continuity and Disaster recovery planning, testing and deployment Working on Five pillars of software quality; scalability, availability, resiliency, management and security Scripting experience in Shell, bash, powershell etc., Experience working with messaging services like JMS. Desired Skills:
NICE-TO-HAVES: Configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef or Puppet. Azure infrastructure Monitoring, Analytics, Azure backups, Azure ARM, Azure site recovery, Azure Runbooks. SQL Server database environment support experience. Security and networking knowledge. Agile and SAFe DevOps and automation implementation experience. ITIL Foundation and knowledge of IT Service Strategy, Design, Operations and Improvement – provided by Dice
